Menu option: Migration > Mop
Whilst the migration is taking place, you can use the AI-generated checklist provided here to prepare for removal, carry out the physical migration, and insert the new component or device. This helps to make sure that you’ve carried out all the required steps.
Notes:
- You must have already set up the migration before you can do this step. Go to Set up a new migration for details.
- We recommend that you carry out the AI-generated pre-migration steps before the migration. Go to Manage pre-migration steps. If you’ve just carried out pre-migration steps, the Migration Steps tab is already open. Go to step 2.
- At any stage of this process, you can click on View Commands to see the commands or steps without any of the associated information, or click on Download Commands to download an offline copy of the commands or steps.
To monitor the physical migration:
- In the Upcoming Migrations table, click on the green migration reference number.
- Click on Migration Steps. The following dialog box opens:
- Click on Step 1 Graceful Service Removal and then click on Determine Migration Steps. This may take a little time, the spinner indicates progress. A list of recommended steps similar to the following, displays:
- Click Mark as Done when the step has been completed.
You can ralso Edit a Step or Add a Step - Click on Continue or Step 2: Physical Migration and then click on Determine Migration Steps. AI generates migration steps: the spinner indicates progress. A list of recommended steps similar to the following displays:
- Click Mark as Done when the step has been completed.
You can ralso Edit a Step or Add a Step - Click on Continue or Step 3: Graceful Service Insertion and then click on Determine Migration Steps. AI generates service insertion steps: the spinner indicates progress. A list of recommended steps similar to the following displays:
- Click Mark as Done when the step has been completed.
You can ralso Edit a Step or Add a Step - When you are ready to carry out Post-Migration Steps, click on Continue.
Edit a Command or Step
- Click on the check box next to the command or step that you want to edit.
- Click on Edit Steps.
- Scroll to the right of the row. You will see that a pencil icon is now displayed.
- Click on the pencil icon. The following dialog box opens:
- Edit the steps as required, and click on Done.
Add a Command or Step
- Click on Edit Steps.
- Click on the divider between any two commands. A plus symbol displays.
- Click on the plus symbol. The following dialog box opens:
- Complete the screen as follows:
Command - enter the new command or step
Description - enter the purpose of the new command.
[Optional] Expected Output - enter any output you expect to see after the command or step has completed.
[Optional] Verification Command - enter the command to be run to verify that the command or step has completed successfully. - Clink on Done.
- The new command displays in the existing command list, and can be edited or run as described above.
