Menu option: Documentation > LLD
Make sure the General tab is selected, and then the Layer 2 Architecture tile.
Layer 2 Architecture information is generated by AI from the device configuration information you upload. There is an executive summary showing current utilizations and highlighting areas to be addressed, a table showing a site-level Layer 2 Analysis, then a full inventory of Layer 2 Security Features showing their utilization, and a full description of the feature.
The Summary information displayed is:
Total Sites Analyzed - totalled across all regions
Total VLANs Configuration - totalled across all sites
Site-Level Layer 2 Analysis
For each site, AI generates a summary of the Layer 2 features:
Select the site whose details you want to view, and click on the down arrow. Details of the following are displayed:
- VLAN configuration - including Total VLANs, total Data VLANs, and total Voice VLANs.
- Spanning Tree Protocol - including Protocol used, number of Root Bridges, plus (optionally) whether BPDU Guard, Root Guard and PortFast are configured.
- Trunk Configuration - including Total Trunk Ports, plus (optionally) whether Encapsulation, Native VLAN, DTP Mode are configured.
Layer 2 Security Features
This section lists the available Layer 2 Security Features, and the percantage of devices using those features across all sites.
There is also a Learn button which enables you to learn more information about each of the listed features.
Use this table to assess the maturity of your network, by Layer 2 security feature.
As a guide, the level of maturity can be assessed as:
- 90 - 100% - comprehensive security deployment
- 70 - 89% - strong security with minor gaps
- 50 - 69% - moderate security, improvement needed
- < 50% - poor, critical security gaps present
